rest

Earlier after I posted on my blog today that I was not feeling well. One of my good friends sent an email to me that says, "I think maybe you're doing too much - SLOW DOWN and prop up those feet... I know that when you're feeling better, you're the kind of person who wants to go out and do things..." Think she knows me?
Yesterday, my Christian counselor said, amongst many other words of wonderful advice, "The 'to-do' (as in a to-do list) is 'to be' today. Be still, aware and grateful."
Today in the mail I received a greeting card from some old family friends that said, "...My presence shall go with the thee, and I will give thee rest." (Exodus 33:14) and "May the peace of God's presence bring rest during your time of illness and healing for your body."

I am wondering if Someone is trying to tell me something...

  1. Dawn,

I continue to pray for you daily and hope this cloudy cold day finds you snuggled up at home RESTING!! When I was having a hard time being on bed rest with the boys, someone told me that was my job. I HAD to rest to prevent my boys from coming too early. So, that is your job as well. Rest and take good care of yourself. I will pray that it will come easier for you. God Bless you!

  2. Dawn,

After I read your blog I was reading an email from Girlfriends in God and wouldn't you know the verse in there was from Exodus but chapter 14 instead of 33..here is what it says:

"Moses answered the people, 'Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today ... the LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still'" (Exodus 14:13-14, NIV).

I pray for you always and will continue to pray but especially right now to rest and be still. Put those feet up and snuggle with that blanket.

    I love you!
